The Wasgij series has some different rules of play as far as puzzles are concerned - instead of following tradition and asking puzzlers to puzzle the same image that is on the box, Wasgij goes a step further - by asking puzzlers to use their imagination!
There are three different concepts in the Wasgij series. They are very different from each other, but they have one thing in common - the picture on the box is not what you will puzzle! The first concept, released in 1997, is Wasgij Original - a brainteaser that asks puzzlers to use their imagination (with the help of a few clues) to move into the position of a particular person depicted on the box. Once the puzzler has done this, he must imagine what the person is seeing at that moment - and that is what must be puzzled. The addictive concept was designed to keep the puzzler guessing until the end of the puzzle, which is why Wasgij is so big today.
But the Wasgij concept alone wasn't enough for Jumbo - they wanted to go one step, and even two steps further - with the creation of Wasgij Destiny, which was followed up a few years later by Wasgij Mystery.
Wasgij Destiny is the concept for "Time Travel" in which puzzlers must use their imagination to puzzle out a picture of what they think the people on the box will look like now. The third concept of the current series is Wasgij Mystery - in this concept, the puzzlers have to use their imagination to puzzle what they think will happen to the persons depicted on the box in the upcoming minutes.
The three different Wasgij concepts are unique in themselves and offer puzzlers something different from traditional puzzles. Each concept is entertaining, challenging and most importantly, fun - with visual humor in every puzzle. Wasgij Original has been a favorite of puzzlers for years, probably because of the element of surprise, puzzling something unfamiliar, when you don't know what the people pictured on the box are doing. That's why there are more than 50 puzzles in the Wasgij series. . . and many more to come!
