About THE ARTIST, JANNEKE BRINKMAN: Janneke Brinkman (b. 1948) is a specialist in botanical painting. She completed her studies in biology at the Free University in Amsterdam. There she discovered her talent for drawing very precisely and in detail. She challenges herself to get flowers botanically right on paper. Most of all, she loves to combine science and art in a harmonious way. She applies the watercolor technique because it is very suitable for depicting the bright colors of flowers and plants well. With her work she wants to highlight the beauty and fragility of our nature
