For young and old, from beginner players to true experts: this chess calendar is a daily challenge to enjoy all year round. The calendar contains 313 varied chess positions, neatly divided into four levels that alternate by day.
Level 1 is accessible and clear, level 2 a bit more challenging, level 3 demanding, and level 4 consists of real brainteasers. Of course you can choose how far you want to go and, for example, try a higher level. The positions range from opening slips and surprising twists in the middlegame to subtle endgames. Most of the time the winning continuation is requested, sometimes a beautiful draw.

About the author
Bart-Piet Mulder, with his 60 years of chess experience, is a true expert. He has played at various chess clubs and since 2008 has been a first-team player at De Wijker Toren in Beverwijk. Besides playing himself, he gives many chess lessons and for years compiled the combination column for the magazine ‘Schaaknieuws’.
